So I’ve been harboring a little secret this week which is that Chris and Oliver have been out of town visiting his grandmother, allowing this mama to sleep, frequent the gym and watch countless hours of TV. While it has been near torture not having my boys around for days at a time, I plan on soaking up this weekend in their absence with a girls night out at a noted Polka lounge, trying out a neighborhood brunch spot,  helping my fellow Madison Wisconsin alums by participating in “Bader Blast” and rejuvenating with daytime naps. On Sunday we’ll all be reunited and heading out to California on Monday, let the whirlwind begin! The holiday season has officially hit, with our town’s Christmas lights twinkling and my company’s annual “munchies and crunchies” grazing day of savory indulgences in full swing. I plan on taking some time away from the blog to enjoy our vacation, but you can follow along on Instagram for updates!

Closet-When I saw this outfit on “Happily Grey” I couldn’t pin it fast enough. I’ve already recreated this look and have it packed away in my suit case. It’s casual but sleek and I’m such a sucker for a mix of brown and black, especially when it involves suede booties. They are by far (as I’m sure you can tell) my favorite shoe this season.

Palette-These gingerbread doughnut muffins are the perfect recipe for the next gathering of friends throughout the holiday season. The muffins are fairly easy to make and the glaze just gives it some extra punch.

Kiddo-I loved seeing all the various ways we could make an Advent calendar for Ollie. The one pictured is particularly cute and easy to make. I have always enjoyed the holidays but now that we have our son it makes them all the more exciting, especially because you get to slow down and see it through their eyes.

Space-I love a good bar cart, and this one is not only adorable, but it’s fairly inexpensive and not too intimidating for a nice DIY. It reminds me of the breakfast cart that Bachelor Farmer uses to display their pastries and champagne for mimosas. You can check it out on my instagram, here. So dual functionality and at a low price!
